Authorities Asking For Help To Locate Missing Elderly Woman

HIDDENITE, N.C. — Authorities in Alexander County are asking for help in locating a missing elderly woman.

Lucille Stikeleather, 82, was last seen at her home Monday morning around 10.

Authorities say Stikeleather was set to travel to McClain Road to bring her husband some tools, but never arrived.

Lucille may be driving a green or gray 2000 Chevy Impala with North Carolina tags PTC-1275. She was last spotted traveling northbound on Highway 321 toward Watauga County.

She’s described as 5-foot-5 with brown eyes and gray hair. Authorities say Stikeleather suffers from the early stages of Alzheimer’s, and may be confused if contacted.

Officials say Stikeleather is known to frequent stores in Alexander and surrounding counties.
