Authorities Discover Meth Lab In A Mt. Holly Home

MOUNT HOLLY, N.C. – Law enforcement officials in Mount Holly arrested five people accused of operating a meth lab.

Officials said the meth lab was discovered at a residence on Hicks Circle.

The meth bust was a combined effort between the Mount Holly Police Department, Gaston County Police Department, Gastonia PD and the NC State Bureau of Investigation.

Authorities also said the Gastonia Fire Department Hazardous Material Team and Gaston Emergency Medical Services assisted as the scene was being processed.

Officials charged David Arley Morris, Eric Shane Lewis, Ricky Martin, Buddy Martin and Kristie Lee Sutton with several counts of conspiracy to manufacture meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.

“This investigation is a good example of how agencies working together and sharing resources can have a positive impact on our communities throughout the area,” said Mount Holly Police Chief Don Roper.

Police conducted an investigation at this location in 2007 for suspected meth manufacturing.  That case resulted in arrests and convictions for meth related charges, according to the police report.
