Booze It And Lose It Halloween Campaign In Full Swing This Weekend

Booze it.CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Twenty-two charges were issued following a Charlotte checkpoint at the start of Halloween weekend.

Drives were accused of DWI, driving with an open container and other crimes. The checkpoint was set up overnight in the 2400 block of Park Road.

All of NCDOT is running a “Booze It and Lose It” campaign through the weekend. Officials call getting behind the wheel after drinking a “terrifying” decision.

So far this year, 242 people have died in North Carolina due to alcohol related crashes, according to NCDOT.

Officers will step up patrols until Sunday.
