Police are searching for a gunman who took off on foot after a shooting in the Windsor Forest neighborhood in Harrisburg. Deputies are reporting that two people are dead.
Deputies responded to a 4:30 p.m. call of a man randomly shooting a gun out of his home.
The incident took place at a home on Coachman Court.
No details have been released by the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office yet but according to witnesses a man and another person were killed in the shooting. Early reports say a woman and her two young children were able to escape the home. Both children are reportedly under the age of five. Crime in Charlotte .com has heard from one neighbor saying she did see a firemen and police running with two children.
Officers were going door-to-door, as well as sending out an automatic phone call telling residents to stay inside their homes. The entrance roads into the neighborhood are currently blocked off and police aren’t letting anyone in or out.
