Cab Driver Killed By Drunk Driver

CMPD LOGOCHARLOTTE, N.C. -A taxi driver was killed when another car hit the cab in southwest Charlotte early this morning.

CMPD said 23-year old Justin Miller was driving while impaired and speeding down Woodlawn Road when he slammed into the cab.

The cab driver was making a left turn onto Woodlawn Road when he was hit by Mr. Miller’s BMW.  The taxi driver was ejected from the car and died on the way to the hospital, according to Medic.  The victim’s name has not been released.

Justin Miller fled the scene on foot after the accident but was located moments later by officers.

Miller was treated and released from the hospital and is being charged with felony death by vehicle, felony hit and run, driving while impaired and driving while license revoked, according to police.

Miller’s license was suspended during the time of the accident due a pending DUI arrest from last month.
