Cabarrus And Mecklenburg PD’s Investigating County Line Shooting

bullet holesCABARRUS COUNTY, N.C. – The Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting from a vehicle at a pool house in a subdivision that sits in both Mecklenburg and Cabarrus Counties.

Saturday morning around 4:15, the Sheriff’s Office received word from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department of a shooting in the 6000 block of Underwood Avenue. Authorities say the shooting occurred at the pool house in the Coventry subdivision.

Victims told officials they were sitting on the jungle gym next to the pool when a small, dark-colored, possibly-two-door vehicle pulled up to the intersection of Underwood Avenue and Ashby Drive, turned off their headlights and fired a single shot towards the victims.

One person was injured by what appears to be shrapnel from a bullet. His injuries are “not serious”, officials say, and the victim was treated and released from the hospital.
