York County police have arrested the man they believe is responsible for stealing dozens of vases from a cemetery last month. In November, 40 bronze vases were stolen from Lakeview Memory Gardens cemetery in York County. The vases were worth about $12,000.
Police arrested 42 year old Charles Wayne Cochran on Saturday. Cochran brought the vases to a recycling plant in Dallas at the end of November and sold them for scrap.
According to police, Cochran has denied stealing the vases. He is being charged with larceny and desecration of human burial grounds.
