Charlotte Man Charged for Stealing Almost $2K in Whitestrips

CIC Default CrimeA Charlotte man stole hundreds of thousands of dollars in oral hygiene products from Target this weekend.

The items were stolen in three separate incidents from the Target on Cox Road and the larceny was reported by a store employee on Monday, police documents show.

In each crime, Lionel Jay Thomas, 47, of Charlotte, stole different varieties of Crest teeth whitening strips. He is charged with three counts of misdemeanor larceny.

Thomas stole nine boxes of Crest 3D Pro 20-count whitening strips worth $405 on Saturday around 3:30 p.m., police reports show. He then entered the store again later that evening and stole six boxes of Crest 14-count Vivid Whitestrips and nine boxes of Crest 14-count Supreme Flex whitening strips, totaling $735.

Another theft was reported the next day when Thomas took four boxes of 14-count Crest Supreme Flex whitening strips, seven boxes of Crest 3D Pro 20-count whitening strips, and three boxes of Crest four-count 3D 1-Hour Express whitening strips.

The total worth of all larcenies was $1,990, police said.
