Charlotte Mother Will Be Sentenced Today For the Rape of Her 1-Year Old Daughter

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A Charlotte mother will be sentenced today for the rape of her one year old daughter.

In July of 2011 when a New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office investigation uncovered a yahoo chat of a Laurinburg man who had admitted to engaging in several sex acts with a young girl.  According to court documents, Vincent McDougald, 41, discussed specific sex acts that went on between he and the child. The chat also went on to describe various sex acts that went on between the girl and her mother – a woman he called Darlene.

That led police to Darlene Enos, 35.  When officers arrived at Enos’ home on Monroe Road in Charlotte they found the woman’s daughter, who Enos said was 1 year old, according to court documents.

During questioning, Enos told investigators that she met McDougald on a social networking site that specializes in bondage fantasies. Enos went on to say that that her conversations with McDougald were sexual and soon shifted to including her daughter in various sex acts.

That’s when she reportedly invited McDougald over to her apartment to have sex with her and her daughter. He accepted.

Darlene Enos was arrested and charged with first-degree rape, crimes against nature, two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, two counts of first-degree sex offense and three counts of indecent liberties with a child.  Each charge is a felony.

On February 26, McDougald pled guilty to two counts of first-degree sex offence of a child.
He was sentenced to 276-341 months in prison. Upon his release from prison, he will be required to register as a sex offender and participate in satellite-based monitoring for the rest of his life.

Enos previously pled guilty to conspiracy to commit first-degree rape and conspiracy to commit first-degree sex offense in connection with the incidents. She will learn her fate later this morning at the Mecklenburg County Courthouse.
