Charlotte Strip Club Loses Liquor License Over “Pattern of Violence”

mosleymugSomeone was shot and killed last week at a strip club in north Charlotte that has now lost its liquor license due to “a pattern of violence” as determined by the North Carolina ABC Commission.

A staff member at Lust of Charlotte, also known as Club Lust, located at 124 Atando Ave., was charged on Nov. 27 in the murder of Gregory Spearman, according to the commission.

Suspension of the club’s alcohol permit will remain in effect until the Office of Administrative Hearings hears the case.

Since 2013, two fatal shootings have taken place at Lust of Charlotte and police were called to the location three times between Dec. 7, 2015, and July 22, 2016 for an armed robbery, an aggravated assault, and a rape.

On Nov. 27 at 3:37 a.m., 34-year-old Gregory Spearman was shot in the club and died at the hospital later, police said. Wade Adam Mosley, 27, who worked at the club in security, was charged later that day with Spearman’s murder.

On May 1, 2015, Lust of Charlotte received temporary ABC permits. State officials said they have held their current ABC permits since Dec. 8, 2015.
