Clerk Shot During Grocery Store Robbery

Crime Scene YelloROCK HILL, S.C.  — According to the Rock Hill Police Department, there was an armed robbery around 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said two black men entered Park’s Grocery at 732 East Main Street and robbed the clerks at gunpoint. One of the men shot a store clerk in the leg.

According to police, the shooter is described as approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 230 pounds with a muscular build. The second robber is 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 210 pounds.

The men walked into the store and demanded money from the store clerks. According to a police report, the clerks gave the two robbers the cash register drawer and one suspect then fired one shot from a black revolver.

The robbers left the store and ran away on foot. Emergency workers arrived on scene, and the injured clerk was taken to Piedmont Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are searching for the thieves.
