CMPD Arrests Suspect After Shooting At Park

A man was left with serious injuries after being shot in attempted robbery at a North Charlotte Park. The incident happened around 4pm Sunday in the 900 block of West Sugar Creek Road in the parking lot of the recreation center at the Sugar Creek Community Park.

Medic treated the victim with what was described as life threatening injuries and transported him CMC Main. The man underwent surgery for his injuries. The victim’s name and condition has not been released.

According to witnesses at the scene, the armed robber jumped into a white Pontiac Vibe and sped away. CMPD made an arrest in the case later Sunday evening. The suspects name has not been released.
