Aran Cox
On Wednesday, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police arrested a man that was planning to meet a 16 year-old child at a middle school in the Providence Grove Division.
Twenty-seven year-old Aran Cox on charges including third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, solicitation of a child by computer or other electronic device to commit an unlawful sex act, and disseminating obscene material to a minor. According to CMPD, the relationship between Cox and the student began on Facebook and was of a sexual nature.
Officers with CMPD’s Providence Grove Division, along with Youth Crimes Detectives and School Law Enforcement, were made aware of Cox’s intentions and waited at the school for him. Cox arrived at the school around 12:00 and was arrested. He is being jailed in Mecklenburg County under a $152,500 bond.
