CMPD Charge Third Suspect in Shooting, Kidnapping

Labrian Aaron WallaceA third suspect has been arrested and charged in a shooting and kidnapping that occurred in Charlotte last week.

Labrian Aaron Wallace, 25, was arrested on Friday and charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, first-degree kidnapping, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, and felony breaking and entering. He was jailed on bail set at $260,000.

The charges are in connection with a Monday shooting in the 100 block of Smallwood Place.

The name of the victim has not been released, but they suffered life-threatening injuries and were taken to Carolinas Medical Center. It is also believed a woman in the home was kidnapped following the shooting, but she was found by police on Tuesday and was not harmed.

Two others were arrested early last week in connection with the shooting: Larry Manns, 27, of Charlotte, and Marsha Nicole Cook, 32, of Concord. They are being charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, and first-degree kidnapping.

A motive for the crime hasn’t been released, but the suspects and victims knew each other, police said.
