CMPD Investigating East Charlotte Homicide

CMPD LOGOCHARLOTTE, N.C. – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department are conducting a homicide investigation that occurred on Filbert Lane in East Charlotte overnight.

Officers responded to a call saying a man had been shot.  When officers arrived on scene, they found the man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  The victim was pronounced deceased on scene.  The victim’s family has not been released.

Detectives have determined that a fight broke out between the victim and a known suspect.  Officers on scene located the suspect and transported him voluntarily to police headquarters to be interviewed by detectives.
