INDIAN TRAIL, N.C. – A Charlotte police officer was arrested in Union County after deputies say they were called to the officer’s home about a domestic dispute.

According to the Union County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the home of 32-year-old Michael Snider in Indian Trail around 9:30 p.m. Thursday night.

Snider’s wife told deputies that he picked her up and threw her to the ground during an argument. It isn’t clear how extensive her injuries were.

Snider was arrested by deputies and charged with assault on a female. He’s in the Union County jail under a $2,500 bond.

CMPD says the Internal Affairs Bureau has been notified and is conducting an internal investigation.

Snider has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

He was hired by the CMPD on March 10, 2003 and he is currently assigned to patrol in the Independence Division.
