CMPD Searching For Leads In SW Charlotte Homicide

chalk outlineCHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department detectives are investigating after a man was shot and killed Thursday afternoon on Kings Ridge Drive.

Steele Creek Division patrol officers responded to a call of an assault with a deadly weapon with injuries at the 7500 block of Kings Ridge Drive. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene at 4:56 p.m. His identity has not been released.

Detectives have been canvassing the neighborhood looking for witnesses.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a Homicide Unit Detective. Detective Rainwater is the lead detective assigned to this case.
