CMPD: Suspect Sought in 3 University-Area Robberies

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is asking for public help identifying a man in several University-area robberies.

The first of the robberies occurred on Jan. 7 at 2:50 a.m., at a Kangaroo Express at 8008 Harris Station Blvd, police said. The suspect brandished a weapon and demanded money.

The suspect then robbed a Kangaroo Marathon gas station at 10000 N. Tryon St last Saturday at 4 a.m., when he again b, police said.

The last robbery was 2 a.m. Tuesday at an Extended Stay America located at 8211 University Executive Park Drive, where police said the man assaulted a person in the building but left without stealing anything.

The suspect is a 6-feet to 6-feet-2-inches-tall black male of thin to medium build with facial hair and dreadlocks at shoulder length.
