CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are looking for the second suspect allegedly involved in an undercover drug sting, which left one dead.
A shootout happened Tuesday in the Hidden Valley Elementary School parking lot in the Hidden Valley neighborhood.
Davion Drayton, 17, is wanted for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. CMPD says he should be considered armed and dangerous, and anyone who knows where he is should call police at 704-336-8228.
Police say an undercover officer and a confidential informant bought marijuana from Drayton and 17-year-old Jaquaz Walker. As they turned away, one of the suspects allegedly shot a gun, hitting the informant in the shoulder. Officers returned fire and struck Walker in the head. He was pronounced dead at Carolinas Medical Center later Tuesday night.
