A man who was been lurking around an apartment complex has led Charlotte-Mecklenburg police to caution young women in the area.
One woman was assaulted by the man at the University City Circle Apartments, which is located across the street from UNC Charlotte and houses many students.
According to a police report, the victim, 20, said the man came up beside her while walking and put his hand on her buttocks.
Police received another report from a woman accusing a man of the same description of following her around that area.
The man has been described as an about 20-year-old male, Latino or Asian, between 5-feet-6-inches and 5-feet-8-inches tall, with a right bicep covered with tribal tattoos.
Report of the assault by the first woman was filed in March, but there have been multiple complaints made to police about the man.
Officers and managers of the apartment are working together to keep students aware of the man’s description, according to a spokesperson for CMPD.
