Cocaine Arrest Result of Iredell Drug Probe

1lOeiZ.Em.138Iredell County authorities say a monthlong investigation has led to the arrest of a Statesville man on cocaine charges.

Chestean Junior Riddick, 35, was arrested last Friday according to the sheriff’s office. He is accused of selling drugs  to undercover agents twice at residences in east Iredell County.

The investigation began with a tip from the community, sheriff’s deputies said.

Investigators then quickly realized that Riddick was on a most-wanted list of suspected drug dealers. Riddick has past arrests connected to possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, cocaine sale, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and assault with a deadly weapon on a government official.

After agents made two undercover purchases of drugs from Riddick, the man was arrested at work, deputies said.

Riddick was charged with three counts of sale and delivery of cocaine, three counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, and one count of felony possession of cocaine. Authorities said he was jailed under $90,000 bail.
