Thirty year-old Joseph Layton was arrested at his Concord home on Tuesday and faces several sex offense charges pertaining to a 14 year-old victim.
Layton is accused of targeting the young girl in an online chat room beginning in may. During the online conversations, Layton posed as an 18 year-old. He allegedly lured her to a Salisbury hotel room where the sex offenses occurred.
Layton is being charged with four counts each of indecent liberties with a child and statutory rape or sex offense, all felonies. He is being held in Rowan County under under a $400,000 bond.
