Crime Decreased 15% from CMPD Summer Violence Crackdown

CIC Default Blue LightCharlotte-Mecklenburg Police said crime has decreased in just a little over a month after the department’s summer violence crackdown.

Crime has decreased 15 percent in the department’s focus areas since the crackdown started in May, police said. However, they are also saying more than a dozen shootings have happened in Charlotte over the last month. That includes random shootings into homes, cars, and even a baby’s crib.
