A tip called in to the Mecklenburg County Crime Stoppers line led to the arrest of the man behind two Harris Teeter robberies.

Forty-two year-old Andrew Clyburn was arrested on Tuesday, following the lead from Crime Stoppers. Clyburn is accused of fobbing the Harris Teeter store on the corner of Mallard Creek Road and West W. T. Harris Boulevard. The robberies occurred on October 18th and November 8th.

In both instances, the robber demanded money by giving a note to a cashier. The note claimed the robber had a gun, but one was never seen either time. Police don’t think Clyburn was behind a wave of Harris Teeter robberies that took place earlier in the year.

Clyburn has been charged with common law robbery and robbery with a dangerous weapon. The amount of money he made off with has not been determined. He is currently jailed in Mecklenburg County.
