Doctor’s Office Employee Slammed With Fraud, Drug Charges

STATESVILLE, N.C. — A former doctor’s office employee faces fraud and drug charges, according to police.

According to the Statesville Record and Landmark, the former employee is accused of using the doctor’s Drug Enforcement Administration number to obtain prescriptions.

Mary Evelyn Jarvis, 56, was charged with eight counts of trafficking in opiates by possession and five counts of obtaining a controlled prescription by fraud.

Jarvis’ bond was set at $400,000.
