Drive By Shooting A Case Of Mistaken Identity

tapeCHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating a Monday morning drive-by shooting.

Just before 1 a.m., police responded to a home in the 6600 block of Montezuma Trail in reference to shots fired.

Upon their arrival, officers found 32-year-old James Bernard Mandley, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Authorities say an unknown suspect fired shots from a vehicle in the direction of the home, striking the Mandley and the front door.

Mandley was taken to Carolinas Medical Center where he was treated and released.

Police are investigating.
