Undercover Bust Shuts Down Enderly Park Drug Dealers

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police worked with Federal D.E.A. agents in a drug bust on Friday, the 18th, that ended an era of drug activity in Enderly Park. In total, 10 people were charged, nine of which were arrested that day. Authorities say that those arrested were either family members or friends close to the family that operated Enderly Park’s drug trade for several years.

Residents say drug activity has become a problem in recent years, with a notable increase in robberies. This led police to execute an undercover investigation with the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration which spanned six months. During the investigation they determined that drugs were being sold from a number of homes in the area. Police also determined that the house on 1222 Karendale Avenue was being used as a hub for operations. This was one of the homes that was raided during Friday morning’s bust.

The following network of family members and friends were arrested:

Name Age
Theodore Falls 38
Maurice Crawford 32
Derrick Lowery 31
Derrick Owens 35
Aaron Ligon 48
Mario Wilson 23
Cadaryl Drayton 25
Curtis Smith 36
Lavar Rodgers 31

Thirty year-old Nathaniel Washington, a resident of Charlotte, was also indicted but is still on the run. Also arrested in the investigation is Mary Falls, the 70 year-old mother and grandmother of a number of the suspects. Because she owns the home at 1222 Karendale Avenue, Falls is being charged with maintaining a drug-involved premises. She is facing a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a half-million dollar fine.

The men that were arrested each face five to 40 years in prison and a $5 million fine if they are convicted of the federal drug conspiracy charges held against them.
