Elderly Woman, Grandson Missing In Alexander County

ALEXANDER COUNTY, N.C. — The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office is looking for an elderly woman who suffers from dementia and her 5-year-old grandson.

The Sheriff’s Office says 76-year-old Stony Point resident Mary Ann Yoder and her 5-year-old grandson Dustin have been missing since Monday morning.

Family members say Yoder usually stays with Dustin at his home on Elk Shoals Church Loop in Stony Point until it’s time to take him to school at Stony Point Elementary School.

Dustin never showed up to school, officials say.

Yoder suffers from dementia, officials say.

DustinYoder was last known to be driving a 1997 Toyota 4Runner with North Carolina tags BFC-9655.

Authorities say Dustin is believed to be with her, along with a small brown dog. Dustin was last seen wearing blue jeans and a long-sleeved purple shirt.

Yoder is described as a white female with medium-length grey hair, blue eyes, standing 5-foot-5 and weighing 135 pounds.

A Silver Alert has been issued.

If you have any information on Yoder or Dustin’s whereabouts, you’re asked to immediately call 911 or the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office.
