DENVER, N.C. – A Lincoln County woman is facing one count of felony child abuse after her child was brought into the emergency room with a broken femur.

On October 21, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to CMC-Lincoln to find a 2-year-old child with a broken femur.

The parents reportedly told authorities the child had been running in the house and fell in the hallway.

Authorities say an X-ray revealed a spiral mid shaft fracture of the child’s right femur.

Due to inconsistencies in the parents’ stories, deputies asked the parents to take polygraph tests.

During her polygraph, the child’s mother, Amanda Josey, admitted to twisting the 2-year-old’s leg when he wouldn’t hold still for diaper changes, officials say.

The child has been transferred into his grandparents’ custody in Catawba County.

Josey was placed under a $10,000 bond.
