Former Employee at Fort Mill Day Care Touched 2 Boys “Inappropriately”

Steven Matthew GentryPolice arrested a Fort Mill day care worker after he “inappropriately” touched two boys in his care, investigators say.

Steven Matthew Gentry, 28, of York Highway, York, has been charged with four counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor.

Police were referred to a state Department of Social Services investigation on March 31 after complaints were made about a Smart Kids’ Child Development Center employee. The complaint was about “inappropriate touching” between the employee and two 8-year-olds.

Gentry turned himself in on Wednesday at the Moss Justice Center.
