Fort Mill Woman Caused Accident, Fled the Scene

AR-160529305Police arrested and charged a Fort Mill woman with drinking and driving and leaving the scene of an accident on Wednesday.

Krystal Michelle Chavez, 30, of Jacobs Ridge Road, crossed her car over the center line to turn left when it wasn’t safe to do so while driving with a revoked license, the citation shows.

According to Highway Patrol, Chavez caused an accident before fleeing the scene. She also had glassy, red eyes and smelled of alcohol, according to the citation. She was also unable to follow simple instructions, police said.

A 2000 Lexus and Chadwick Farms vehicle were involved in the wreck, the citation shows.

Police charged Chavez with unsafe move causing a motor vehicle crash, driving with a revoked license, resisting a public officer, DWI, hit and run, and giving fictitious information to a police officer.

Chavez was held on a $2,500 secured bond in Gaston County Jail. She is set to appear in District Court on July 8.
