Gaston Co. Deputy’s Car Broken Into; Badge, Taser, More Stolen

badgeLOWELL, N.C. – A Gaston County Sheriff’s Deputy’s car was broken into last night while she was in the gym. A Taser, gun, badges, uniform and other sheriff’s deputy equipment was stolen from the vehicle.

According to the police report from Lowell Police Department, the sheriff’s deputy was off duty and working out at Ultimate Fitness gym at 1609 Westover St., Lowell, from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. When she returned to her 2012 Jeep Compass, she noticed her work bag, gym bag and purse were all missing.

Thieves also took her daughter’s book bag.

Police reports say there is video surveillance installed outside the gym that they will review.

The thieves made off with a Gaston County Sheriff’s uniform, bulletproof vest, Glock Model 22 – 40 caliber with a Gaston County Sheriff’s deputy logo and star, a Taser, two Gaston County silver deputy badges, three magazines for the glock 22, pepper spray and holster, six belt keepers, Sam Brown duty belt basket weave, Gould and Riches holster, double magazine pouch, police radio, Gaston County Sheriff’s Office silver collar pins, silver name plate with C. Barnes written on it, Gaston County Sheriff’s I.D.’s, Gaston County courthouse security card and large key ring.
