Gaston County Man Charged With Sex Crimes Against Children

GASTON COUNTY, NC – Gaston County Police have arrested a man on child sex charges who they say has been convicted before for crimes involving minors.

An investigation into allegations against Barry Chris Phillips began in December. The offenses, police say, occurred between June of 2012 and December of 2013 at a home on Union Road, where Phillips was living.

Officials say that Phillips has previous felony convictions involving minors.

Phillips was arrested on January 15, and charged with three counts of first degree sex offense with a child and three counts of indecent liberties with a child.

He was taken to the Gaston County Jail and placed under a $500,000 bond.
