Gaston County Teenager Facing Attempted Murder Charge

GASTON COUNTY, N.C. – A Gastonia teenager faces an attempted first-degree murder charge after a shooting early Friday that left a man injured.

Isiah Harper, 16, is accused of shooting a 28-year-old man.

Police were called out to the victim’s home along the 400 block of Queens Road at 1:46 a.m.

Harper reportedly shot the man twice in the left side, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.  The victim was treated at the hospital and released.

The man told police that Harper was waiting on him to come home and then ambushed him.

Harper is also accused of hitting the man in the face with a black semi-automatic handgun.

Harper was held at the Gaston County Jail under a $1 million bond.
