Gastonia Man Charged for 2014 Stabbing

AR-160429149A Gastonia man was arrested on Tuesday for a stabbing that happened over a year ago, police said.

James William Caldwell Jr., 30, had stabbed another man in the ankle in December 2014, arrest records show. He was arrested this week and charged with misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon.

Records show Caldwell was sentenced to prison for at least 10 months in May 2011 for burning down someone’s Gaston County property.

He was also sentenced to at least six months in June 2o08 for breaking into a car and stealing it, records show.

According to Gastonia Police Department spokeswoman Donna Lahser, warrants can sometimes take a while to be served if police are unable to locate the suspects.
