ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. – A Rowan County teenager faces cyber bullying charges after a nude photograph was posted to the social media site Instagram.
The sheriff’s office says a 17-year-old West Rowan High School student created the Instagram account and posted the picture of a 15-year-old girl.
Police say the girl gave the picture to her boyfriend, but the photo was leaked to the suspect.
Deputies arrested him at the school. Detectives say the student was honest about his participation during the investigation and he accepts responsibility.
The principal suspended the teen. He gave police a written promise to appear in court on the charge. He was not booked into the detention center.
