Authorities in Iredell County have busted two men for bringing large amounts of heroin into the county from Charlotte for distribution.

Twenty-three year-old Jeremy Scott Becker and 30 year-old Rico Davarsha Flemming were arrested separately in an ongoing drug investigation. The men are reportedly connected to a Mexican drug cartel operating in Charlotte.

Both men sold drugs to an undercover officer individually. Directly following the sales, they were arrested by detectives and officers with the county’s Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team. Narcotics detectives say they anticipate arrests within the Mexican cartel as well.

Both men were charged with selling/delivering and possession of heroin and maintaining a vehicle/dwelling for a controlled substance. Baker was additionally charged with trafficking heroin and is jailed in Iredell County under a $50,000 bond. Flemming is jailed in Iredell under a $30,000 bond.

Iredell authorities say these arrests, along with others, have thwarted efforts by criminals to import and distribute heroin into the county.
