STATESVILLE, N.C. — The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man who’s been convicted twice of assault on a female, and is accused of doing it again.

On December 1, authorities say 35-year-old Christopher Lynn Harris assaulted a female victim at a home in the 100 block of Elmwood Road in Statesville.

The victim, who was also the 911 caller, made contact with the deputies as she walked away from the home. Deputies say the victim showed obvious injuries. The victim told authorities Harris had an outstanding warrant out of Catawba County for allegedly assaulting her on an earlier date.

Officials were able to verify the warrant and continued to the home and made contact with Harris. Harris was arrested on the outstanding warrant, as well as possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia, along with a new charge of assault on a female.

Throughout the course of the investigation, detectives learned Harris had been convicted twice in the past for assault on a female and subsequently charged Harris with felony habitual misdemeanor assault.

Authorities say their attempts to locate Harris on the felony charge have been unsuccessful, and has been entered as a wanted person.

If you have any information on Harris’ whereabouts, you’re asked to call the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office at (704) 878-3180 or Crime Stoppers at (704) 662-1340.
