Cleveland County SchoolsKINGS MOUNTAIN, N.C. – A bomb threat was issued at Kings Mountain Middle School, according to school officials.

The threat was issued to Kings Mountain Police for the middle school on Thursday. The school was notified a few minutes before 3 p.m., said Cleveland County Schools spokesman Greg Shull.

“Teachers and students were dismissed from school early,” Shull said. “The students were moved outside, away from the building.”

A team from the Kings Mountain Police Department searched the building and by 3:20 p.m. the building was cleared, Shull said.

“The school has an evacuation plan and that plan was enacted the moment the notice was received,” Shull said.
