Larson Given up to 17 Months After Pleading Guilty in Child Abuse Case

larsonWanda Sue Larson was sentenced to anywhere from six to 17 months of jail Tuesday after pleading guilty to child abuse charges.

A former supervisor for county social services, Larson, 58, was charged with four counts after a boy she was legal guardian to was found shackled on her porch with a dead chicken around his neck.

Larson will likely be released within a months time, though, because she has already served around 16 1/2 of those months in jail. She could have been given 86 years maximum for the charges she plead guilty for.

In addition to jail time, Larson was given five and half years on probation and while under supervision from the court, she will have no contact with all children included in the case.

Larson said she wanted to apologize to the children in the case that she couldn’t better protect them
