CLEVELAND COUNTY, N.C. -An 11-year-old accidentally shot her stepfather Friday night according to the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff said the stepfather, 19-year-old Bryan Scott Reno, had bought the gun Friday in Rutherford County and was showing it to the girl.
The step father removed the clip – leaving a bullet in the chamber. He then showed the firearm to his step daughter.
Deputies say the child accidentally squeezed the trigger, and fired a shot.
The step father died from his injuries.
