ROCK HILL, S.C. – A man has been charged with murder and investigators are trying to piece together what led to the deaths of two people Friday night in York County.

Officers responded to Kingswood Drive off of Mt. Gallant Road around 6:30 p.m. Police say this incident does involve two scenes within a subdivision.

York County deputies originally charged 34-year-old Josh Matthew Grose with one count of murder Friday night. Deputies then said Saturday that they believe Grose is responsible for both deaths, but he has not yet been formally charged with a second count of murder. Investigators say there is not a clear motive.

Grose allegedly struck and killed the two women with a vehicle, as well as a third male victim. He is recovering from his injuries.

One of the women has been identified as Sandra Thomas, 53. Police have not yet identified the second victim. Autopsies were conducted on each victim Saturday.

Grose is being held without bond at the York County Detention Center.
