A man who police said was asleep at the wheel was arrested around 10 a.m. on Thursday.
Ryan Christopher Dellinger, 25, of Blacksburg, S.C., was found unconscious in a running car, sitting in the driver’s seat, close to 200 South New Hope Road. The arrest report shows he was groggy and lethargic when an officer woke him up.
Dellinger has been charged with possession of synthetic marijuana and DWI. He was jailed on a $30,000 bond in Gaston County Jail.
Dellinger has multiple DWI charges pending, arrest reports show.
