Rock Hill police say the quick thinking and reaction of a woman may have saved her. The victim, who’s identity is being protected, dialed 911 and hid the phone from the suspect while he was trying to sexually and physically assault her. According to police, the victim and twenty nine year old William Fields had a no contact order.
The victim woke up when she heard Fields climbing through her bedroom window. According to the victim, he was yelling at her, being extremely violent towards her, and also begging her to have sex with him. When Fields went to get a glass of water, the victim grabbed her phone, dialed 911, and hid the phone under her pillow. When the 911 operator heard the victim begging for Fields to stop assaulting her, police were sent to the home.
Fields was arrested without incident and is being charged with forcible rape and burglary. As of Friday night, he was still behind bars in Rock Hill.
