A Catawba man was arrested by the US Marshals in a Tallahassee, FL Barnes and Noble Friday. The man was being sought on multiple charges of child rape.
According to police, Nicky Lee Anderson, 41, had been wanted by Catawba County Sheriff’s Office since March for alleged rape of a young victim on several separate occasions. Warrants for his arrest had been issued on March 26 and the US Marshals were contacted earlier this week to assist in locating Anderson in Miami.
Friday, the US Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force received information that Anderson had left Miami to go to Tallahassee. Authorities spotted Anderson in a Barnes and Noble bookstore in a Tallahassee mall three hours later. He was arrested without incident. While awaiting extradition back to North Carolina, Anderson will be in custody in Tallahassee.
