Man Arrested for Stealing 2013 Camaro

Vernon GardnerLast month, Crime in Charlotte (.com) posted an article about a red 2013 Chevrolet Camaro that was stolen from Randy Marion car dealership, located in Mooresville.

Authorities have arrested Vernon Edward Gardner, a 45 year-old resident of Lexington, in connection with the crime. His arrest was made after he confessed to the crime, along with seven other vehicle thefts in North Carolina. The total estimated value of the cars that Gardner has stolen is around $600,000.

According to police, Gardner stole the Camaro, valued at $58,500, by breaking in to the dealership and simply driving away in the car. Gardner is being charged with one count each of larceny and breaking and entering in relation to the theft at Randy Marion Chevrolet. He is being jailed under a $375,000 bond in Lexington County.
