Man Charged With DWI For Deadly Car Crash

booze and keysCHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have charged a driver who they said caused a deadly crash in southwest Charlotte Tuesday night.

The crash closed South Tryon Street at Tyvola Road just before 8 p.m.

Officers said Michael Perrella was speeding and driving while impaired when he rear ended a jeep, killing Ramez Eldin.

Perella was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said he will be booked into the Mecklenburg County jail once he’s released.
