CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One man was killed outside of a convenience store in west Charlotte Wednesday.

Police were called out to the Marathon gas station at the corner of Old Dowd Road and Wilkinson Boulevard just minutes before 4 p.m. Police say he was shot outside by the pumps, not inside the store.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have identified the victim as 36-year-old Thurmont Davis. He was found with a gunshot wound upon officers’ arrival. MEDIC pronounced Davis deceased on the scene.

Members of CMPD’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team located and arrested Wisezah Buckman Wednesday evening.  Buckman has been charged with Murder and is currently being interviewed by detectives at police headquarters.

Investigators believe Thurmont Davis and Wisezah Buckman knew each other and were involved in an altercation when it escalated.
