SALISBURY, N.C. — A repeat offender has been arrested in Rowan County following a series of fraud allegations.
Police say 21-year-old Brandon Wright Acker used a counterfeit business check to buy a $35,000 vehicle at Cloninger Ford and Toyota of Salisbury last week.
Similar offenses surfaced throughout the investigation. According to detectives, Acker also made a fraudulent donation to a charity in honor of Abraham Jenkins. Jenkins, 19, was murdered in Salisbury last year.
Acker was booked into Rowan County Detention Center under a $10,000 bond. Other fraud charges are pending against the suspect in other counties.
Police did recover the vehicle.
