ROCK HILL, S.C. – A Rock Hill man is facing charges after police say he passed a stopped school bus Wednesday morning while high on keyboard cleaner.

The man, 32-year-old Adam Perlowich, was arrested after deputies say he appeared to be intoxicated and was found with seven cans of keyboard cleaner in his car. Five of them were empty.

A witness, who is also a South Carolina State Constable, took video of Perlowich huffing the cleaner while behind the wheel of a vehicle in the parking lot of the York Town Apartments.

The constable had been following Perlowich for several miles after he initially found him in the middle of the road with his head against the window, the report states.

The constable said his wife called and asked him to check on the man, whose car was in the middle of the road. When he asked Perlowich to turn off his car, the vehicle began to roll down a hill, he told officers.

When the vehicle stopped, the witness says Perlowich put a can of compressed air into his mouth and inhale. The constable called 911.

That’s when he says Perlowich took off in an attempt to not get arrested. The constable followed him while talking to 911 operators.

At one point, the constable says Perlowich passed a school bus which had its red lights flashing.

Perlowich reportedly drove down many streets and even circled back at one point, according to the report. He eventually pulled over into the parking lot of the apartment complex.

Perlowich told officers that his kidneys hurt and he felt like they were failing. He was taken the Piedmont Medical Center where he was treated and arrested.

He was charged with inhaling aromatic hydrocarbons, passing a stopped school bus and resisting police.
